100lb mono as well but havent had any bust off issues with the leader. Any bustoffs have come from the braid meeting rocks.

Thats what i use but i also use hooker flourocarbon...Its a blend of flouro/mono so it has qualities of both....160 pound and is thin for its size...can be found on trade me.Sits on the reel well too...used it at the three kings and it went well.used it for stick baits.Hooker also does a 100 pound blend too.Can recommend that also. |

That venezualan twist thing sounds interesting! ref the top water i tauranga and three kings....Not very good mate in either...In Tauranga not the best time of year and at the three kings they just didnt want sticks for lunch You been out on the rocks much? Did you sort that rod out after?
. Arron...yeah that varivas looks handy...saw some at boulders the other day and it felt very supple.

....I found that was coming undone from the casting...so i just finish the short PR with two tight half hitches and i cast for ages at the kings and it never came undone.
