Geez Kingfishsi ... I dunno if I can match your culinary capers ... my stuff is simple like this......

Gurnard are kind of tasty but not too much on your average fish so sometimes I cook them whole.

Cut off the head and gut cavity

Slash the body diagonally three times or so ... the opposite way on the other side

splosh on some olive oil (or butter)

plenty salt and pepper

stick them under the grill on their side

when the skin goes crispy ... splosh on some more oil & turn them over

sprinkle on lots of parsley

drink some beer and eat your fish

works a treat with flounder too but you dont have to turn them over

Hi Smudge

Amazingly, all my recipes don't take long to prepare at all. Nothing worse than having to cook for hours to get a feed. That's the best thing about seafood, it takes bugger all time to cook.
