My Saragosa 18000F doesn't.
Can't you remove the mechanism inside that does that on your Stella? Surely its an easy fix. |
Cbro wrote:Yeah I've tried that but it still happens, Its not a big reel its my little 4000fd. I haven't ripped it out cos I don't want to void the warranty which I presume this would. Im glad I went with a Saltiga over the stella for stick baiting...I'd hate to lose one of your lures. BTW I will be wanting one or two to go with my PE6 Graeme will be bringing up in Dec, I hear this rod is suited to your lures? Do you have any available?. I only have heavy Starwalker lures I'll have to dispose of. |
). It has more than enough line capacity for what I will be using it for. No point having 400m of 80 braid if only the top 100m will be used 99% of the time. if the 4500 had the same drag and retrieve then that would be the go, bummer about that but oh well. I went with 5000 as it it more compact in size than the 6500, although being about 1oz heavier ( ). It has more than enough line capacity for what I will be using it for. Diawa seem to work out a lot cheaper if purchased from the US. Shimano work out about the same so no point... |
Tomatron wrote:I just brought the saltist 5000 based on the fact it has ample drag, great line retrieve (135cm) and in terms of weight it is about 90g lighter than a saragosa 18000 (with a 105cm retrieve) and is more compact in size. All round it was a pretty easy decision and the below specs speak for them selves... http://www.shimanofishing.co.nz/products/reels/spinning/saragosa/specifications http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-saltist-stt5000h-saltwater-spinning-reels.html The saragosa 8000 was not an option for me as the line retrieve is far too low for a topwater reel. Since using my low ratio jig reel and comparing it to even my dirty 12000D bait runner I have realised that the less winding you do the better, so a high ratio reel is far better. Just loo at the ratios of the top end dog fights etc. I have a nice PE6-8 kilwell nano rod to pair it up with - very very nice light sexy rods these and like most I can't say enough about them. It will be good to finally pair it up with a nice reel and rid of the dirty 12000D. Not bagging the saragosas at all, I'm sure they all work just fine and are proven fish catchers please don't get me wrong. |
