2 albies were hooked 65 meter south of Ohinau, 1 was dropped at the boat. Water temp was around 19. Cant wait to get out next weekend if the weather sorts itself out.

There are reports of a stripie having been hooked up today. Any further information available. Was reportes as being some 61/2 miles off the hook.

Couple of fish dropped here today that i know off... 120m and 300m

Also headed head for our first look on the 1st. After a quick jig on the aldy pins we set some gear and zig zagged 250m 350m heading south. Temp ranging 19.8 20.3 water colour average. Picked up first alby 265 m middle of aldys and mayor. Headed east from there, water 20.5 soon after loads of albys right through to 800m where we had a smallish stripey chase one right up to the boat. After soaking a livey for 20 min with no joy headed out to the aldy knoll to drift some baits for the night. dragged up a large oil fish est 50 kg for our trouble. Re set gear at 6.15 am temp 19.5 and headed back to where we saw the marlin. Worked That area 5-6 nm inside 712 had a alot of bait, temp stayed at 19.5 water still average. With weather slowly deteriating made our way back. Seeing nothing of interest realy until slightly north of the pins around 80-140 m , loads of bait at 10-40 m and schools of kahawai on the surface gannets diving etc. unfortunatly with tide getting low had to head in. Anyway was good to see a marlin first trip out, hopefully be back out there soon.

No worries, No doubt some one will drag one up this weekend in the trolling comp out of whitianga. Looking foward to the reports.
