FG, why i feel its more streamlined through the guides and its a smaller knot which lessening the friction therefore getting more distance.
alot of people cant tie it so use PRs

FG i find it easy to tie, its slim and strong as f@*$k ive never had one fail on me

I have mastered it in my own mind,it is easy to tie,reliable,casts well,no tools,use it for jigging and popping...FG all day every day!
 
Use what you have 110% faith in..I know when I hook up on a GT or King I can give it everything I have,my weakest link then becomes me .

Find a version of the FG that works for you, I tried the cross wrapping with the triangle of line but I couldn't get that to work. Then I found a version on Youtube (Japanese guy) where you wrap the leader accross a section of tightly stretched braid and adapted that to work over my knees, with braid wrapped around both feet. Works well and most importantly I trust it!
 
Or ask the guys at Yeehaa if they will do one for you, they did one for me that lasted ages and only needed re-doing when the leader got < 1 m.

I have huge trust in my PRs but I notice after about half a day the PR slowly becomes unravelled from casting over and over again no matter what finishing knot I use.
 
Never had the issue with jigging so I am putting it down to the casting.
 
So keen to try the FG knot, just need to get faith in my ability to tie it.

That ones better but i think my way is easier again,might have to make a video..yeah right.
 
I find it really easy to use my two (poking fingers) to separeate the braid and pinky to lock the wraps down for the criss cross part.Didnt watch he rest past there,watching clips of knots puts me to sleep!

ref the finishing knot= Dont use the finishing knot...just make sure your last two half hitches are really really tight...clip and burn tag end....I use all day and it never unravels(casting)

Love the FG knot/  Took me couple of weekends practising and watching Youtube.  Such a brillantly simple knot and so streamlined for casting... will be using it jigging as well.

This is the best, easiest and most effective FG version, and it has won me over. You use the tension of your reel's drag, frees your hands up and real easy. Piece of piass, if you can handle the porno elevator jazz. I use it on my softbait and stray lining gear as well.



Lil' PRs are sweet as and work nearly as good. It's just even the little ones can tend to curl slightly because of the tension of the wraps.

Hey fish i, that is one awesome version of the knot you found.  I have been trying to tie that knot for months and my retarded hands just would not do it.  

That version is the best and easiest I have seen.   THANKS!!  Just got to try it on a fish now.
Tis better to have hooked and lost than never to have hooked at all.

The technique looks similar to using the EZ Knotter... Let us know how the knot holds up Kurt, at no point did I see him tighten the wraps by pulling on it Confused

The EZ Knotter would be good if your hands are letting you down.

I gloved up and pulled as hard as I could after the finish and it did not slip at all.  The rod keeps tension on the line like a bow.  All that is needed is to push the knot together as you go to keep it from spreading out

I had a look at the video you posted Sam, and it is the same process.  The tool makes the bow instead of the rod.

I am looking forward to tying this knot on the boat.  I think it will be easy with the rod in a rod holder.
Tis better to have hooked and lost than never to have hooked at all.
