Yes and no if you can cast and work them ok then no worries, you will probably find you will be able to use smaller and or lighter poppers better than the equivilent stickbaits and may have to stick with the larger sizes for stickbaits. Q: most have trebles as supplied which I am not keen on.If I change out for single or twin hook sets will this adversely effect the action of the lure? yes and no. try different hook configurations and combinations every lure is different but often you need a treble or back to back single in the center to keel the lure and stop it rolling. Q: split rings supplied with lures always look a bit under done to me. Do you gurus change these out or not? If in doubt change em out. Q: Sebile magic swimmers got one of each size dare I use these on kings? trebles & split rings on these look particuly small compared to other such as Shimano Rapala! Caught some small yft and hooked a sailfish on the magic swimmer weird lure but i like them, put bigger trebles on mine |
Handling a thrashing kingi in or at the boat with trebles flying everywhere not ideal in any situation let alone solo.

Can you explain that? |

On some Stick Baits you will find a swivel makes the lure spiral/roll to much when it should dive wiggle and pop. (Floating models ) Much better imo to tie direct to lure with a little Leader sleeve from (Jig Star) to protect the leader from being squashed under pressure. |
