Have a light jig stick for 100-200g jigs. Have a tyrnos 10 at the moment but looking to upgrade. Was initially thinking about a JM PE3 and now looking at a size 400 accurate. Anybody have experience with both or either that can give some pros and cons and comparisons. Cheers

i have the bx400xn on a powerspell 100g. mint reel. feels like a good balance. havn't jigged with a pe3 but have with a pe5. pe5 speed wise is alright but think the pe3 is a bit slower
if getting the accurate, get the longer arm and power handle as it makes a difference
small jigs dont really tire you out so much so the faster speed of the bx400xn would be my pick

JM PE reels need no further introduction. they are one of the most popular overhead jig reels in the world.
PE 3 reel is 4.5:1 and a quite large spool diameter so line retrieve rate is pretty decent for this line class. It come with factory standard power handle and t bar. No need to buy aftermarket add ons.
give it death!

Accurate's do the job ok but if you want the best get a jm, hell if you want a accurate I got a bx400xn that's only been used twice I'd happily sell, hate the 6.1 ratio

the key difference is that the pe3 is easier to jig all day but wont catch as many fish as the accurates faster retreive. i prefer accurate in the smaller size
you wont go wrong with either. both are extremely popular for a reason , and i would be happy to use either. i like the jm more in the bigger sizes
best to see someone like boulder who has both, then you can see what they feel like and which way you would prefer to go

Sorry mate but gotta call BS on that^

the whole ratio thing is just crap.... you really think a fish is going to not hit a jig because that stroke had 10cm less lift on it?

alot of the time i get hits when i slow down or even stop... and jigging the 6.1 ratio plenty of times Ive caught more on the JM than people on the 6.1 accurate, and vica versa, hell sometimes people on one side of the boat do alot better than the other, just the way it goes sometimes

the JM's are much smoother can take alot more drag and dont bind under semi heavy loads.

Blackboat (or anyone) PM me a offer on it, spooled with daiwa 62lb boat braid upgraded black handle. only a couple weeks old

the JM's are much smoother can take alot more drag DISAGREE and dont bind under semi heavy loads Accurates don't either. Why else would have JM copied the Accurate drag system.

I am also interested in the Twin spin issues??

Once again not trying to get up anyone, just some statements are not quiet true and need to be corrected.

Both brands have been a big part of the development of the jigging scene we know today and are the two to look at.

For me it is not about how the reel feels and looks straight out of the box. Jigging is one of the hardest forms of fishing on the reels. It is about how is it going in the 3-4 year plus period that really shows the tools to the toy's. Smile

Off for the weekend now let's see what this looks like on mondayBig smile

To put things in a bit of perspective.

Initially Japanesse anglers where using modified spinfishers for jigging, these caught on and mods became more common.

Jigging master ( Pony) initially used Accurate reels and also modified them to suit the specific application for jigging.

Jigging master (Pony) developed the Oceanus 30 reel in associatoin with Progear specifically made for jigging.

Jigging master developed the JM reels using the knowledge gained form using the accurates and Oceanus reels and incorporated the best of these, to produce the JM reels.

Accurate have made advancements since, utilizing some of the technologies now common place in jigging specific reels.

Holden vs Ford

Yamaha vs Suzuki

whopping big dude Vs small wirey fit guy......

In a pissing match it always ends with dribble!!!
