I've been looking for some rod storage racks for a while now and these look just the ticket. Thinking of mounting them up the sides of the hull so i don't have to store rods in the side pockets of the boat. Any more than one rod inevitably becomes tangled and/or jammed and hard to get to in a hurry.

 
Only thing i can see might be a problem is they could slide forward dropping the rod butt out of its hole (16ft tinny so not the smoothest ride).
 
Has anyone used these or seen them in action????

I haven't tried those specifically but Steve, they seem to have the one flaw that all that I have tried have. They are too close together. Absolutely perfect for storing rods, so long as you don't want to store rods with reels attached.
Yes, I know the pedantic fisherman will take the reel off the rod every night after fishing and reassemble the morning of the next trip. But I'm lazy, so I don't.
If you can cut them down to single units that you can space logically, it might be worth the time and effort.

The Nascan self adhesive foam rod holders with the velcro closure work well and there's no worrying about the rod slipping out. You can also get the bolt on option, although the self adhesive sticks extremely well.

You can get them in single, double or quad grouping.
What's the cheapest type of meat? Dear balls. They're under a buck.

Smart Marine have them on their website-agree they work well as you can alternate direction of your rods to stop reels clashing, can also cut to do singles or doubles. They pop up on trade me every now and then

Yep, agree the Nacsan self adhesive ones work well. Had three set up on the boat and just put another set in a week ago and have lasted well under pounding seas and three years use.

The ones you are looking at would drop out of the end holder too easily I suspect.

Thanks for your input. I think you're right about having to cut them up , they look too close together to allow for reel space. Looks like Nascan is the way to go. The combined knowledge on this site is a wealth of information. Brilliant.
