Just had a convo with Matt Watson (whom is down there now) and no tuna for the 5 boats out there last night and only a couple of trawlers working well outside the trench.... it was "quite" bumpy and a bit "chilly" from all accounts

good luck y'all!

Hi Guys,

Just had a reply to a information request to the Ministry of Fisheries. There is around 2-3 weeks of quota on the Hoki to be caught - weather dependent, ie good weather = 2 weeks, bad = 3 weeks.
I reckon if you are booked and get a break with the wind grab it while you can.
Cheers
odin

we (ITM FISHING SHOW) filmed some pretty outrageous topside and underwater footage of them critters....in fact our next DVD titled "Giant Tuna Adventures" should be on the shelves shortly...awesome fish!!!

Just got an email from a mate to say that another mate of ours got a bluefin estimated at 300 kg which they are bringing in to weigh, they also lost another one after 3 hours when a brand new rod broke. I don't know what boat they were on, but they were about 100 miles off the coast.  will post some more info when I find out more.

Sounds like very hard work to me.
Nobody has ever come up with a great idea after a second bottle of water.
