Like a true muppet after cleaning the boat last weekend i must have left the key on and didn't isolate the batteries. Went to go fishing today and both batteries drained. I swapped out the batteries but now the engine will turn over but wont fire. Suspect i have burnt out the fuel pump. Does anyone have any specific knowledge? Its a F115 yamaha. Cheers

Hi Martyn, my first thought in these situations is always 'is the kill switch in the correct position'? Are you in Pukekohe or thereabouts? If so I would be happy to pop out and take a look at some stage

Hi Smudge, i checked the kill switch, currently charging the batteries in case the voltage was to low. I will give them a chance to charge. Might take you up on the offer after that. Im in Waiau pa. Thanks . Also due for a service so that might be a good opportunity to get it done in winter.

Well thats weird just tried to start it and away it went.🤔. Wondering if the voltage was enough to turn it over but not run the fuel pump. Cheers anyway Mike. The fridge is usually stocked so you dont need an excuse to call in if over our way .🍺

Its possible that if the batteries were down a bit ....whilst cranking the voltage might have dropped enough to not wake up the ecu properly. I dont know your motor ....maybe marine is different but my Ducati wont power up the ecu (weber marelli ) if it doesnt see 9.5v whilst cranking . It will crank away slowly for a while just wont go .
I wish I was young again .... Id be heaps smarter than this time
