Ok,
Do you have a chirp transducer for echo running out of evo2 as well?
Has it worked before? If it's worked before and nothing has changed (including transducer position) I'd say you've have a hit on your transducer and its stuffed.
I've quesswd you have tried all connections

Yep to the chirp echo running as well, although it took me a while to work out you can't run them both, together. That's not running great either, though better than this. And no, I've never been able to get anything better than this. Annoying thing is the transducer is over a year old now, so I doubt burnsco would replace...I've tried connections but I wondered abut interference from other cables? Can't really re-route these easily so was hoping someone might have an idea before I tried...

Have you tried an update? I know it sounds stupid, but sometime I have found these units build up a bug, and it is only fixed by updating the software in the sounder.
Go to the simradsailing site, download the latest updates for your unit onto a clean micro SD, and load into your unit.
Failing that, give the guys at navico in auckland a call.
