I though it was around the 20kg mark but will stand corrected. Went 115cm nose to fork and by 60cm round the girth. Caught on the surfcaster using a bit of squid, 5/0 gammie circle and 40lb BM tough trace. I'm told it took me about 1/2 hour to get in.
Finally got a copy. Here's a picture of the fish in question

Nice Jw, Sounds like you will be pretty close to that mark. Not sure of a table but that sounds about right from me. Bloody exciting to catch those buggers from a boat but i can only imagine all the things going thru your mind from the rocks, No wonder you lost your sence of time. Nice catch.

An equation I got from the Mfish website gives 17.9kg for 115cm length (no girth in the equation).
There is a table on here that uses length and girth, but starts at 173cm/66cm. Also says add 10% for a well conditioned fish.
17.9+10% = 19.69 = 20kg

Someone on here was asking for data a while back, I think to generate their own equation. Hopefully they will see this and be able to help.

Big smile That great! Thanks for that. It was in reasonable but not good condition - I've seen fatter so I think between 17.9 -20kg is going to be about right.

In a few years it will be HUGE ...

I remember telling some old sports stories to a young team I was playing with and one of the teenagers piped up with:

"The older you get the better you used to be!"

He had me there ...
(and that was more than 10 years ago now - imagine how good I would be if I was telling those stories today)

Nice fish JW and top effort from the rocks mate.Clap

Here is the formula for imperial measurements;

Girth x Girth X Length /800

So approximate inch figures below, tranposed from your metric girth and length back to imperial, but accurate calculation ;

23.62 inches x 23.62 inches x 42.276 = 25263.83/800

= 31.58 pounds or 14.35 kilograms

Hope that helps, and remember the calculation is a guide and reference only it is not absolute and accurate as all fish have different condition, a fat fish would weigh more for example.

Can vary greatly with kings depending on condition. Have seen 110-115cm fish varying between 14 and just over 22kg.

Got onel last year measured 120cm from memory and in good nick so called it for 20kg but in reality I will never know (or really care TBH)

18 to 20 kg would be close, great effort on a surfcaster, it would of had a good bend on.
