Hi all, can anyone recommend any shore fishing spots for snapper at high tide in the Orewa area?

Thanks One leg - the thing is that I've only tried fishing off the rocks at places like Campbells bay or Mahurangi where they're best accessible at low tide. Thinking that at high tide I'd need to cast a lot further to get past the rocks I'd normally fish off.

I heard down at the rivermouth by the camping ground is pretty good, 2 hours each side of the tide, never been there my self, but i am willing to give it a shot ;) 

spinning for KY at the mouth or just in side it will get you lots of KY good place for kids to learn fishing also a few crabs there as well .

Come on Cal toughen up  sometimes  it's all part and parcel of fishing a spot  zip lock bags come in too there own in some spots ,but then the reels i use can be washed in salt water   One of the reasons i use a small  day pack can sit on the frount if needed while fishing and easy to get too.mind you is a bit daunting getting your hooks back from  a large ray standing in knee deep water .(Steve Irwin keeps spring to mind)

Are the Kahawai around yet in the river mouths? Are there better months than others?
