Just installing a hds 10 gen 2 with structure scan on a 17ft ali , the details advise that the transducers should be no greater then 300mm apart but how close can they go to each other ? i'm guessing that as long as they are out of each others beam angles all's good ?

caught up with navco at the boat show , asked a few questions in great detail.  asked if the adverts were doctored to make the images look better than real life use ....didn't go down well , anyway since talked to the usa , got a cheat sheet of settings for best use updated the unit with the lastest software and will get out for a check at some point

Had a few interesting issue with this unit , manly that it would not fire up , screen on and trying but stuck. Looking online this is a common prob. in the usa and alot of people either regularly doing hard resets or sending the units back for replacment.
Mine has crashed since the lastest software up date , neither soft reset or hard reset will work.  soft i reloaded the update again , loaded onto a sd card and reloaded it again in to the unit over riding the last load up. With this the unit is working well again.  A bit like laptops these have issues....

I also got a master settings list from the usa that gives the best results for the unit and side scan , can load up if anyone want it.

Hi
I have one of these units as well. Got it last year but never put the structure scan on as I had no room left on transom. Got new Haines 660 to sort that problem out!
Definitely interested in any cheat sheets you have.
Di you get a definitive answer on how close the transducers can be ?
Am just about to install latest firmware as well. Fingers crossed
