If the bait is spread out and/or you can't mark individual fish then maybe they just aren't feeding? The sign, and how to read it is more important than jig colour or how many drifts you do. |
ChrisW wrote:Always match the jig weigh to water depth - 100m= 300g, 60m=200g. If the jig does not get down quickly enough, go heavier or choose a slim shape jig e.g. zest Curved Slider, JM rocket jig. Then choose your colour, a rough guide is the overhead light conditions. Bright light = bright reflective colours! dull light = dark colours. Everyone has their favourite jig colour, get all the guys to use a different jig colour and you will see which colour is best at that time. Jig choice can also depend on whether you want a quick retrieve, then chose a slim jig that respond best at speed e.g X zest Curved Slider, zest deep slim, JM Rocket. If your technique is slow, then choose a flat side jig that will work well at a slower speed e.g. zest Hardy Long, zest curvaceous jigs. |
