Hey, been looking on here a lot for info and it's been great.

But now my motors needing replacement or a rebuild and wondering what to do.

Its a 1970s figlass cavalier maybe around 14.5ft with a 1975 Johnson 70hp. But the centre cylinder is buggered. I don't think it's worth rebuilding really.

So my question is what size engine should I be looking for to replace it? I can't find any information on the fi glass cavalier or what it's rated too. The old 70hp pushed it well.

Don't have heaps to spend so looking at a cheapish second hand replacement. it seem there's not really many options in the 70hp range but a lot of 90hp out there. Would that be way to much?

It's very tidy for its age and the transom is very good with do problems at all.

I know a 90hp is over kill but just very few options in the second hand 50-70 range it would seem
