The drag came greased except for the disc under the main gear.  The top fiber drag is extremely thin, I could force Cal's thru the tiny pores in it with a soft bristle brush. Gears and sideplates were pretty dry definitely needs prepping for saltwater use.

Yeah, that's a bit of a worry isn't it.
The instruction sheet says not to over grease the internals though:

Yes exactly what i was thinking swish--there must be a reason they only put so much grease in,too much can actually do more harm than good..
Just like if you overfill a car engine with too much oil etc,and other things

No, but I did ask the seller to put his wholesale price on for the declaration form for just that reason.
When it arrived customs had obviously opened the box and had a look, but there was nothing on the actual shipping document whatsoever, so not sure what happened there.

The whole transaction was done in less than a week as well, which was really pleasing.
I paid by PayPal which adds a bit extra cost to my VISA, but it's so quick and easy it's well worthwhile.

yeah had similiar experiences that fact it turns up in a week or sometimes less is great , i like the idea of paypal regardless of the cost its reassureing to know your funds are held from the seller in case of problem especially when dealing with large amounts . i think traded me is a easier to use format than ebay but man there are some bargains to be had in  the worlds biggest market place .

I had a bit more of a play with it today and learnt some valuable stuff:

My reel came with only two of it's little VBS brake weights "on", (as you can see in my photo posted above - out is "on"), so as I was still getting a few over-runs I decided to turn them all on, and see what difference it made.
Well, no matter how hard I threw, I had not a single backlash, and distance, if anything, was increased.
Every cast was perfect, and even with the cast control knob slackened right off, I couldn't get it to over-run.
So if you get one, make sure to set all your brakes to all "on", and start from there.

It's so good, I reckon this reel would be perfect for surf casting!
Could it be the best all round medium weight reel ever made?

Here's the blurb on brake weights from the instruction sheet:
