Hey Harry just had a look at Ocean Mark snaps but not used them before so dunno.
From above comments I might tie hard to the lure first have a few casts see what the action looks like in that mode then maybe try a solid/split ring setup. See how much difference it makes!

In the past I just cut off the grommet from a solid ring. Split ring through the grommet and uni onto grommet. I machined the grommet down slightly so it would fit through the top guide so I could keep the leader the length I wanted and save on retying all the time when packing down gear and washing down.

But yeah those super sensitive stickbaits will swim easier when tied straight to. If so, I'd go a small chain knot as well as uni will slice through itself with enough drag and the super supple casting leader won't be the best on any chaffage on the connection.

i now use a miller knot to a size 6 ocean snap, the miller knot is so strong!
