owner split rings. NT swivels if you can get hold of them and trace depends on your budget theres so very good traces out there but you pay for them. I just use sufix zippy in 80 or 100lb (with pe5 or 6) you could use a 40 or 60 with your PE2.5 though. Its nice supple line and casts really well!

Any brand of NT Swivels? There seems to be a lot of different NT Swivels. What size split rings for the PE 2.5 & PE6? I'm also going to be needing hooks for stick baits and poppers...

Cant remember what brand of swivels dude. To be honest i wouldn't get too caught up on such specifics. basically you want the lure to float nice and up right not tilted over ( which it will do if something is unbalancing it also different lures will need to be rigged slightly different depending on rods so these things can take a bit of playing around once you're out on the water . A a good rule of thumb is that if it looks wrong it probably is.

The more movement points you make to your connection the harder and less effective it is swimming good stick baits with a lot of action. Ok for poppers or stick baits that have no real action in the first place of the likes that shimano put out. But unnecessary unless you believe it makes a difference in fighting the fish. I use a small grommet with a split ring threaded through. Even better is tied directly to the lure ultimately. But this creates issues with changing baits and breaking leader when using decent amount of drag, especially where you have been using split ring connections as these tend to scuff up the stainless loop. When I used to make lures I contemplated threading a grommet onto the stainless connection loop. Best solution for if wanting direct connection I could think of but never got around to it.

Interesting thought fish i. What size grommet do you use and split ring? Keen to explore the idea of simpler connections as you say less is more. Meanwhile in Singapore I picked up some top water singles by Decoy. Have not seen these in NZ yet? One side of the eye has been pressed down for easier attachment to split ring

The decoy inlines are excellent ,as are their split rings(jigging ones)........they are far better than the owners....better recoil........they are a dull grey colour(for ref)
here are the NT swivels...........the 2/0 is big........1/0 will do you with a 9mm split ring for 80 to 150 gram........very well priced as well and bloody strong.

I used to use owner splits but those decoys in your pic are better.....you open and close the owners a few times and they dont recoil as well........Nt Swivels are superb and cheap too....havent used fisherman stuff....didnt know owner did swivels .....i have just stuck to my personal preference but those clips that stellamoon mentioned look good.......have used something similar for squid jigs ......Convenient.
