Unfortunately this "explanation" is not the full story the 11 days sitting on an order, combined postage, no replacement sent when it was obvious the couriers had lost the combined order and "I was busy on the water yesterday" comment to answer or no answer at all, this after walking into the shop (twice) and being ignored by staff really made me feel an important customer NOT! now the free postage offer no sorry better service elsewhere.
I had hoped to use the time over the silly season to tie some new patterns with these materials, but now back at work so that chance is gone and now I have to get the same materials from the US.
In his defence this is not the first time I've had crap service from a shop here, problem is having had time in retail myself and learning from mistakes and good training this sort of thing is a real sore spot.

I get all that Mark, but at the end of the day **** Happens! Matt has always struck me as a stand up bloke, sure he dropped the ball and has admitted that. He's refunded you so the postage is a non issue.

I understand you're angry, but take your foot of his throat... your point is made, now give him a chance to put things right and run his business, if he does he will offer a service, if not it will fall on him, but at some stage you got to back off mate. It's done!  What do you want him to do? Throw himself under a bus?

Fair comment Clark I've put it down as another of those fishing disappointments.

Hi Clark

Thanks for the heads up, i dont belong to any of the forums.  this was one of those cases when everything goes wrong , the couriers were closed for about 6 days over the christmas, new year period, then they lost the package for 13 days, which does not help anyone.  I was certainly slack with communication about the problem, and apologies for the stress and concern this has caused.  We do care very much about our customers and try our best to fulfill our orders asap.  In this case a refund was issued as soon as requested by the customer, and we are always happy to issue refunds to customers who are not satisfied for any reason.   This customers has had a bad experience with our service, and again i do apologies whole heartedly about this.  This is not the norm, as nearly all our many customers will tell you.  I have also added a new procedure for checking daily on the progess of couried items, so if something goes wrong i can hopefully avoid similar problems in the future.

I have had a couple of responses from Matt, I will be giving him and his business a  second chance, thanks Clark, for giving him a nudge, I think as Matt says, the Festive time of year, when we are all ""Flat Out"", may have had a lot to do with what occurred, we will no doubt see what happens next year! Like O Neill, I was hoping to do a fair bit of caddis/worm tying over the New Year, but have not really been able to get into it, due to lack of materials.Confused
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing, by people who can't fish.
