Would be faster! Placed two internet orders with a shop on the 19th and 26th December, took until the 31st for them both to be shipped. Now the 6Januaryand still nothing. The shop is 80km away, the tracking shows they are somewhere between Rotorua and Hamilton are both further north of the town where I live. I sent the shop an email today saying they need a new courier! In between the two orders I placed a similar order with a US company and it arrived today from the US!

I'll ring the couriers in the morning with the tracking numbers and at least find my orders but as for the shop forget it. Order 1 was paid for on the 19th December but not collected by the courier until 11 days later! NO shop is that busy!

Still nothing. Three days ago I got an email saying they would try a track the order but have heard nothing. I have just sent an email asking for either a refund, or a replacement order and I will not be ordering again from Taupo rod and tackle. No one is that busy that they leave an order sitting for 11 days without sending it, or three days to either find or replace an order, they also charged me for each of the two orders then combined them into one that was claimed to be sent on the 31st.

Still no reply from this lot $85 might not seem much! If fished down that way I'd walk in a demand my money back, I'll probably get the same lame excuse 'I was on the water" heard of cowboy builders? now we have cowboy retailers! This from their website; We are independent, friendly, service oriented and specialize in all trout fishing. Sounds/read like a Tui ad from my point. As the male presenter would say on Cowboy builders "taupo rod and Tackle stay clear". Disappointing as the previous owner was great to deal with both as a customer and in wholesale guess this guy thinks I'll have the lifestyle but stuff the hard work or deal with people the right way! Just checked their TM account and I'm not alone with things not being sent and refusing to answer emails.

That's a bloody sad result Mark, they have one of the best fly-tying selections in the CNI!

Just had two emails saying the two orders have been refunded to my card I'll make sure I check the next card statement. No apology or try and sort it out. Just some half cock email from them saying after five days they still hadn't heard from the couriers well that's not my problem and what about the 11 days before an order was sent, combining two orders into one and double charging postage then not sending a replacement order and nothing happening until I threatened to get legal to get my refund? All this equals crap service! Lesson learnt should have listened to myself when I went in there and they took no interest just stood behind the counter and took my payment. Well they've lost a customer, wonder how the other anglers who bought via TM from them got on I know I won't be going back, now I have to try and find the materials elsewhere and it will probably be overseas. Shame as the previous shop owner was great to deal with.

Matt is usually very customer focused. I might give him a call and see if there is possible explanation. It doesn;t sound good.

Agree, always felt very well looked after at the shop. Surprised about the bad experienced that's described here. Haven't been down or ordered something for some time. Would be disappointing, if that's the normal service level now

I doubt it's the norm, but even if not, i do feel, as I trust O'Neil implicitly to be truthful, that not enough has been done to fix the situation. Heck problems arise in all aspects of life and it's rarely the problem that is the issue but how it is addressed. It very much appears this hasn't been addressed well.
I have been busy with medical tests and crap today but hope to make contact with Matt tomorrow and see if we can get a reasonable explanation.

Thanks Clark. Personally I'm over it. Angry about the times involved, charged two orders for postage but sent in one cheap envelope, lack of answers/responses to my emails and the failure to send a replacement order/s. I don't think there was even a printed address on the package but not certain as I quickly handed it back to the courier Now looking for the items elsewhere.......

Well O'Neill, I think I might be having a similar problem.... First order and third order were received in a timely manner, second order not yet received, replied through the web site... no reply as yet. I will keep you updated as to progress!!!

Just checked my e-mails(Usually do this after I have checked out fishing.net!!!)
The buggers have found my order, still sitting ready to be sent, and have offerred free shipping for a year as a pennance! I have told them that we, the royal we, no names mentioned are pi**ed off with their service, and that they needed to get their combined s**t together!!! So I will see if things improve, i.e. one of my orders had an item missing, which I have also notified them of, the answer was as usual "no reply"
I will keep you informed!!!

Got this response from Matt today. I respect the situation and his taking responsibility for his part!
Hi Clark
Thanks for the heads up, i dont belong to any of the forums.
this was one of those cases when everything goes wrong , the
couriers were closed for about 6 days over the christmas, new year period, then
they lost the package for 13 days, which does not help anyone. I was
certainly slack with communication about the problem, and apologies for the
stress and concern this has caused. We do care very much about our
customers and try our best to fulfill our orders asap. In this case a
refund was issued as soon as requested by the customer, and we are always happy
to issue refunds to customers who are not satisfied for any reason. This
customers has had a bad experience with our service, and again i do apologies
whole heartedly about this. This is not the norm, as nearly all our
many customers will tell you. I have also added a new procedure
for checking daily on the progess of couried items, so if something
goes wrong i can hopefully avoid similar problems in the future.

Unfortunately this "explanation" is not the full story the 11 days sitting on an order, combined postage, no replacement sent when it was obvious the couriers had lost the combined order and "I was busy on the water yesterday" comment to answer or no answer at all, this after walking into the shop (twice) and being ignored by staff really made me feel an important customer NOT! now the free postage offer no sorry better service elsewhere. I had hoped to use the time over the silly season to tie some new patterns with these materials, but now back at work so that chance is gone and now I have to get the same materials from the US. In his defence this is not the first time I've had crap service from a shop here, problem is having had time in retail myself and learning from mistakes and good training this sort of thing is a real sore spot.

I get all that Mark, but at the end of the day **** Happens! Matt has always struck me as a stand up bloke, sure he dropped the ball and has admitted that. He's refunded you so the postage is a non issue.
I understand you're angry, but take your foot of his throat... your point is made, now give him a chance to put things right and run his business, if he does he will offer a service, if not it will fall on him, but at some stage you got to back off mate. It's done! What do you want him to do? Throw himself under a bus?

| I have had a couple of responses from Matt, I will be giving him and his business a second chance, thanks Clark, for giving him a nudge, I think as Matt says, the Festive time of year, when we are all ""Flat Out"", may have had a lot to do with what occurred, we will no doubt see what happens next year! Like O Neill, I was hoping to do a fair bit of caddis/worm tying over the New Year, but have not really been able to get into it, due to lack of materials.
