Mars has claimed the gurnard pin with a fine Wellington Harbour fish weighing 775gms (1lb 11.5oz).
He seems to think this will spur some of our Auckland compatriots into gear .. Smudge???? He also holds the tuna record
He says: "Thought it was time to give these self proclaiming
mudfish experts a bit of a hurry up, and submit this Wellington tiddler
for a pin. Caught in Wellington Harbour on squid, I must say it tasted
very nice. Pulled the kitchen scales down to 775gm (1lb 11.5oz). Let
the games begin."
