Was def tough fishing, the fish size doesn't reflect the effort but as they say, thats fishing.
Big thanks to all the sponsors, Its really what makes these comps soo good.

Big congrats to Caitlin showing all the boys hows its done, and to Bolty (rob smith) for his third year in a row in the top 5. Showing everyone that jigging isn't a young fellas game.

Bring on November and days of sore arms and big smiles

Yep fine effort by all boats that gave it a good nudge, special thanks to all the epic sponsors and rolly who allways does a outstanding comp, it would have been much easyer to can it all together, and to still be stoaked with my wife's 20kg king when there are near on 300kg blues and swords hanging outside, let alone 3x yft!
And another special thanks to the good bloaks on FIN ADDICT for giving Caitlin the big cheer Sunday morning that pushed her to keep on keeping on dropping and hooking the winner thanks boys 👍
Cheers zac

Good stuff...I still stand by my comment that its a shame that numbers were down, for what is a well run comp with a fantastic prize pool.
I'm guilty of this myself, its the first year my boat has not entered since the first one was run.

I'm sure the fish were hard won regardless of size, that's what competition fishing is about - perseverance pays off.
as dead as dead is

We! Team J&R fishing of ultra took 6th with a 94 cm ! Was hard fishing bombed the 100 pin honeycomb stick baited tuhua reef fished all the inside shelf from 5.30 am till 6pm on Saturday stayed at the cabins shot out early Sunday bombed the honeycomb again for 3 hours to no avail ! Shot to the penguin shoals bombed for 4 hours where we hit a 20 minute bite time but no horses to be seen. ! But hey that's fishing and that's why they normally have the comp in November for the bigger fish ! Was a good weekend though ! Tight lines we will be back for top 5 in November !
