The Decoro Masters 2014 fishing comp is upon us again!
Formally known as The Decoro Soft Bait Masters.
We have now opened the comp up to all lures and added King fish to the mix.
Here is a basic run down of the rules, if you have any questions feel free to call Kane Tapper at Decoro Fishing Supplies for more info toll free 0508 545 545.
Decoro Masters Fishing Competition rules 14’

1. Cost $40 per angler.

2. Anglers must have an NZ Fishing Competition or I.G.F.A measuring board. (NZ Fishing Competition boards can be purchased from Decoro Fishing Supplies.)

3. Competition fishing dates 8th and 9th Feb 2014. Comp is on regardless of weather.

4. Anglers or boat or team must have a digital camera for the two days of fishing.

5. Anglers enter as individuals and go into the daily prizes as individuals.

6. Teams for the trophy are to be decided and noted before fishing starts and can only be made up of four entered anglers.

7. Fishing starts at 6.00am both days, fishing stops at 3.30pm both days.

8. Photos of measured fish must be into Tga Sports Fishing Club by 4.00pm both days to be eligible for prizes.

9. To qualify for team trophy, teams enter one of each species and total longest length wins.

10. Minimum length of each species must be longer than 35cm.

11. Anglers must be present at prize giving with ticket to receive prizes both days.

12. All must obey safe boating protocol and show sportsmanship to fellow anglers.

13. Please take note of our sponsors and support them.

14. Fishing area is anywhere off the North Island.

15. Seacoms channel 3 for updates and communications.

16. The judge’s decisions are final.



17. Briefing is at 7.30pm sharp on the 7th Feb 2014. At the Tga Sport Fishing Club, 66 Keith Allen Drive, Tauranga

19. Registration must be done before briefing, Please register as early as you can from 5.30pm 7th Feb.

Comp is open to Kayaks, boats, land base.
If we caught a fish every time, We'd call it catching not fishing.......

I wounder who will win this year???
The Decoro Masters trophy was hand crafted Barry Welsh in Gisborne from NZ Kauri from the old Railway Bridge at Otoko Matawai Gisborne.

Some awesome looking prizes there Kane , Mark put us onto one of those victory fillet knives last time I was in , bang for buck one of the better knives I have owned. A mate that gave us a hand to wack a few fillets off the other day confirmed this and he use to fillet fish for a job.

Just trying to sort out a double booking and logistics of travelling back and forawrd to Tauranga twice ,
 otherwise could be a starter. Are there any prizes for catching the biggest trevally whilst doing a hull inspection with your pants falling downLOL

All the best for the comp , looks like the weather may be settling a bit.

Hey man, thanks for the comments, yes i totally agree re. the victory knifes. There is a reason they are the most popular commercial knife!
My pick is the 505 for fillets, skinning and smashing rib cages.
Re. biggest Trevally, If I was you I'd check the hull before putting the boat in the water, fishing naked always helps the catching and yes if it is biggest it will get a prizeTongueSmileTongue
