Having never really dabbled in the small light tackle baits more suited for bass fishing this popper is a change for myself.

...like that. I only had the one of those, and as inevitably happened casting over bommies, I lost that, so perforce I started using these small poppers....

.... which worked well, but I felt didn't quite have the appeal of the longer lure. Oh, that is only about a 4" popper by the way....
... that shot puts it more in perspective I guess.
As you can see, there are a lot more than just GTs that nail the poppers up there! :-)

But it'd be interesting to see what you can come up with!
