Sapphire shines,lime tigers, and pink shines were all deadly, tried other SBs but got b.all! .There seemed to be a lot of fish around birds travelling past in big numbers, but i could not see where they were going to
I saw some guys hooked up to what looked like a good king in close to rocks(on livies),but i saw no other sign of them.Total landed was about 25 ,lost 3 after good battles, hook just fell out and only 3 were under 30 cm,,, there was no big ones , and i only took 3 home, from44 cm to 54cm.WE are out tomorrow avo really want to catch BIG snap, on softbait!! Sorry no photos, forgot camera, but Tightlines2 is coming tomorrow and he is a phototaking legend!!
Tennut, we were at the Haystack around 5.00pm fishing was pretty good.
, and Tennut had his near the boat when he said there is shark chasing it. The shark wasn't chasing it, IT was the shark, about 6 foot. The shark saw the boat and took OFF. The okuma rod and SA40 reel got a massive workout as we chased the shark with the boat for about 7 minutes before the jighead hook staightened and pulled out, but the reel performed fantastically. The conditions weren't getting any better so we shifted down to the shelterd side of Waiheke. Although we stayed out till 8.40pm we only brought home 6 fish from 33cm to 44cm with lots of smaller ones, some illegal size returned to the water. We were hoping for the wind to drop for the trip home and it did, just as we were putting the boat on the trailer!! A hard day for us, what worked for Tennut the night before didn't even get touched. Still a feed of fresh fish and plans being made for the next chance to get out, even if it is still a week away

,we could /should have ducked out for early fish ,you forgot to tell whole world who caught biggest fish (obviously an oversite!).Modesty prevents me from doing so,,,i wish someone would ask!.
Oh,thanks for asking Olfart ,not that it matters or means anything but it so happens ...... No look TL2 is my good friend and im not gonna get him all upset or feeling inadequit? just because he gets the odd smaller fish on flash tackle TL2 you are getting almost inspiring in your posts ,,remind me abit of an old American guy called Gray!!!!!!
