Sometime ago I put up a post in which I mentioned a to take fishing list, shortly after I received a PM from a new guy to the site, whom was just lurking, asking is there really a take fishing list. I explained that it was a figure of speech but he would be more than welcome to join me for a session. I did make the suggestion to 'come out of the shadows and make yourself known', of which he did in an outstanding manner.
So this morning Justin joined me for a sortie. We started off at my usual spot at 05:45 only to be plagued by sealice
. . . . mmmmm what to do, mussel beds of
It took the berley a while to do its thing but it worked as we were soon getting nailed by some big KYs, good fun but not what we came for. We started to get some runs that were very snapper like and so it started . .. . a couple of around 32cm, not flash but worth filleting, then we got a couple of about 38cm .. . getting better . .. and then Justin got a goodie . . a fish of around 3-4kg caught on fresh KY! Justin was one happy yank and rightly so!
Spirits were now lifted, especially for me after yesterdays session, takes were thick and fast with a majority being KY. I managed a couple more snaps around the 38-40cm and then Justin gets another good take which turned out to be another nice snap of around 3kg!
A couple more keepers were put in the bin and switch was flicked, things went quiet so it was a good time to clean our catch and head for home. Another fantastic day doin what I love . .. . god I love fishin !!!!!
Cheers for joining me this morning Justin, enjoyed your company even if you did outfish me.
The look on your face with the good fish you caught . . . priceless!

Hey you out there this am too keenas!
I was over at the Noises - report on my thread :)
Nice fat fishes ya got there.
Nice Drew ! Nice !!
U sure put the pressure on with that txt ......
JK . ... your next mate!!!!!
Phats . .. no pressure my friend . . you know that . . . better book me in on Inphatuated aye
Snap . . . left sealice central at around 06:20. at new spot with bait and berley in the drink about 06:35. Tide was ebbing, current was slight but enough to get the berley moving nicely. depth was about 4-5m and the bottom was foul. We lost a couple of fish in the weed. I have a fair idea as to when to fish this spot. You remember where you stopped to get some livies that morning you came out with us in your boat??? we were around there some where
Bite time was from around sunrise to about 09:30; which i found very surprising as i have generally found that once you get to about 09:00am it goes quiet . . ..
As for bait . .. pillies were very well recieved but as i said fresh KY did the biz on the biggies. Plenty of KY around . . . mmmmm good livies for a king or two . . kept an eye out for kings as it seemed like the perfect morning for them. .. they must have been elsewhere getting fat for us . .. chuurrr!
in terms of livies ?? ? .. yip . . but i think the size of these KY's would turn the kings on no end . . . provided they were on the prowl.
It was bloody refreshing going to a different spot as i actually had to think about how i was going to go about setting us up for the best results rather than going to the same place . . . i guess i have been taking things for granted.
I think we had better suss something out before the end of the month. Maybe get some other boats up there to . . . dunno . . food for thought i spose .. . .
