Im looking at getting an overhead high speed jigging set up.

Yep depends how much money you wana fork out as to what kinda gear you wanna be looking at

I have bought a couple of jig rods off this site that were less than half new price and mint some setups sell very reasonable on here with braid etc ready to fish.

it all comes down to your budget. There is 2 types of budget. The one you spend now then upgrade within a short space due to realising it's not up to the job then the budget to get what you actually wanted
Often with kingfish it's better to grab a quality set up from the start
Look at dedicated jigging reels such as jigging master, maxel or accurate and rods from brands such as jigging master, synit, kilwell etc
On Saturday I sat  an okuma rod snap on a 16kg king, and a Daiwa reel have issues that was probably better as a snapper reel previously and saw some cheap braid that was probably breaking well below what it should

Leening towards  Telica 12 with 70lb coloured braid, 100lb leader, just need to sort a rod

"Shimano is quality gear but they are probably stronger in other areas than jigging" ????
Very broad statement dont you think

I agree with mosts comments on going with specialised gear. But a lot of it comes down to what you can afford, how often you will use it and where you will be fishing. Not really much point getting spending $1000 on a combo if you then have no money for food. I aways say buy the best you can afford to, also leaving money for line, jigs hooks etc. Secondly if your average fish is in the 10-15 kilo range where you normally fish, you probably don't need to go out and get the biggest combos out there. lighter gear is getting more refined these days and will handle bigger fish then you expect it to.
