Hey guys/gals,

NEW pattern for the Bomber line up, just wanting to gauge feedback to the colour pattern...

Have tried to keep it natural using golds, whites and browns for the main colouring... Added some random brown "squid camo" also...

I have also gone with a US inspired dressed hook rigging option, 8/0 JOBU dressed up with "squid skirts". The skirts add to the profile of the lure making it more able to match the hatch IMO...I don't personally see a lot of squid where I am based but always hear how the kingy's are suicidal when squid are about in numbers...

Well, might pay to get out there and fish them yourself and get up some pics of them hanging out of big kingies gobs, that'll get the punters drooling. Be good to see some deep marone and whites

Thanks, I do fish them myself but we don't get the large kingfish, mostly rats or up to 12-15kg...A few biggies get caught every year but not like the further north locations...Lately I have spent more time casting from the boat ramp tuning lures...

However I do plan to be out with Nomad Sportfishing NZ whenever the chance or cash flow allows, so I may very well get the big kingy photo Big smile

I have been hacking away at pieces of wood for some time now in my quest to create a wicked range of stick baits...

Lots of carving, testing, tweaking and failures. But I am getting ever closer and dialing in a few different sizes.

New to the line up is a 230mm bait. Yet to finalize weights I have a 115g and a 130g ready for testing, NT 5/0 ( 540kg ). All lures now run NT Power Swivels, I have decided to go with the very best available to create a rock solid connection to any monsters that may be hooked!

Ben P. from NOMAD SPORTFISHING NZ has taken some time from the busy schedule and set aside the weekend for some lure testing. So it is a mad rush to finish what I am working on and get the epoxy dry before heading up to Tauranga this weekend.

We will be swimming the stick baits and poppers and I will be taking notes for any improvements that can be made. There will be a few lures tested that I won't show also... These are still in the "TOP SECRET" stages... more to follow.

New "Bomber" colour for testing also... Yellow Fin Tuna.

Hoping the weather holds for some solid testing!

Forgot to add...

For any NOMAD NZ friends/customers or Tauranga locals wanting lures re-wired, I will have some kit with me for any changes needed to my own lures.

I can re-wire your lures for a special price of $15 each... This will include replacing the belly swivel on applicable lures with a NT 5/0, and changing grommets etc.

You will save $5 on my normal charge + the postage, so if you are interested get your baits to Ben @ Nomad Sportfishing NZ and I will re-wire them.

Thumbs Up Chur!

I haven't seen the October issue, but that is wicked news LOL Proud as but this is only the beginning...

Weather is looking like it will not play ball this weekend... Yet to see if I will be fishing.

I did go for a cast today to try a 230mm/130g stick bait. I think this will be very fishy...

The bait in the middle is the 130g, the one below is 115g and the larger bait is 170g

I googled a image of a Jack Mackerel and this is the end result...

Trying to capture the faint lines seen on the fish with paint is a nightmare!!!

Brilliant paint work there... do you have a video on how those stickbaits of yours swim?

No not yet... But I will get some video when out with Ben, we can get a good vantage point from on the roof of the boat...

They are a diving bait... sit at 85-90 degrees.
