Sam, just keep on what you are doing and find your own niche.
This photo is of the Shell Shaping Twister 150g, one of the most sought after lures for GTs, it also is a long lure like yours, it has an action that seems to dive out and back in the water like no other lure I have seen. Also the Mighty Orion 'flat' sidded Bigfoot is as far away from a Gamma as you can get, and it works Thumbs Up

Interesting evaluation fishntips, First up never seen or fished a "Narado" so can't comment on it's shape nor it's action... And I am glad my lures don't look like Gamma's copying Kenji's Gamma would be to easy Wink Kenji has done superbly well with creating a great lure but more so the hype that surrounds it, yes the Gamma is tail weighted but don't over think it, I hear and read all kinds of crazy assumptions about Gammas mystery weighting systems etc... LOL ( Not trying to be offensive guys )

The ball sinker is just that, it serves it's purpose well on these test lures but just because that is all you see doesn't mean that is all that is going on Wink . I am reluctant to have stainless steel end caps machined yet, yes they would look good but haven't confirmed dimensions etc whilst I keep changing and tweaking the lures, but will look into it in the future. Agreed 170g is a hefty bait, but there is guys casting much heavier, I use a light popping blank and it is too much for it.

I am always keen to listen and use input from anglers, I don't want to add too much height to this particular lure but I do have few on the bench similar to what I intend you are meaning, would a sharper belly be like a tummy tuck? LOL

I really need to get some video sorted for you guys, sorry it is taking forever but it isn't high on my priority list plus I need a video camera, tried using my phone but it doesn't cut it...

Agreed action is key...and I will keep scratching at wood to make it happen Smile

I did go for a cast today to try a 230mm/130g stick bait. I think this will be very fishy...


The bait in the middle is the 130g, the one below is 115g and the larger bait is 170g

I googled a image of a Jack Mackerel and this is the end result...

Trying to capture the faint lines seen on the fish with paint is a nightmare!!!

No they are a floating lure, the action is that of a GT-Y Gamma but with my own twist...

I do a lot of testing at a wharf, I have been meaning to get some video so I will try to capture some over the weekend. I have very limited video equipment so it won't be lining up for Oscar's Wink
