Hi guys,

Would like to update my Lowrance Hand held GPS Ifinder H2Oc for taking into the bush with me.  I need a SD map card that will show topographic maps with the contours of hills and streams etc.  No idea where to start looking?  Have emailed Lowrance and Navionics in the hope they can help but believe there more marine focused.

Will it do the the job though, in heavy bush cover i mean without loosing signal??
The purpose built units have high sensitivity receivers built in for heavy cover.
I use to have an old 12 channel garmin handheld gps which i used on my boat which was fantastic but use to loose signal all the time in the bush, was bloody hopeless, used to crap myself, get in there then it loses signal.
Replaced it with a garmin gps map 60csx handheld a while back and that things awesome, very really looses signal anywhere in the bush, this has  inbuilt high sensitivity receivers, think theres been two newer versons of this model since i brought it.

I just use my garmin in car gps, mate loaded topo maps, very sensitive, in the bush.
 
can also plug it into my vhf radio and track my mates position on the garmin in car when he calls me and vice versa.
 
will be building my collars this year, for the dogs.
 
the 60csx is compatible with the vhf as well, just plug the cable from the vhf to the garmin.

Think garmin is the way for bush and my Lowrance can be for the boat.  Have a garmin to play with in the bush with the maps and man is it a good little setup. Stronger and quicker to pick up satellites which is reassuring
