definatley give the rocks at the north end of orewa beach a go - i got 8 snapper from 38-68cms there on friday in just over an hour.
infini wrote:there is a deepish channel that runs right down to the sea past the rocky jetty - the KY's run right up thru there as the tide comes in and at night you can usually watch them feeding on the sprats etc if you are standing on the bridge. ive fished pretty much everywhere from right up past the bridge right to the mouth and the KY are everywhere.
Wait for an dusk or dawn high tide and fish it - ive done really well right by the bridge in the middle of the night on a high. |

The rocks at the end of Orewa are good for KY but as for snapper I would'nt expect any ones of great size, The Orewa bridge/Rivermouth can be excelent for KY mainly at night time when the lights are on seems to be the trick have caught on SP's and pillies.
