Went out on a millpond off Purerua this morning before the forecast NW came through - couple of pannies in the 35-40cm range, dropped too many as the glue obviously wasn't strong enough. Not many fat KY around which surprised me, but at least the many-tentacled menace seems to have buggered off.
Satay was the theme up here, but the ones I have seem to be a little softer than the normal brew and found they were tending to mush as I jammed them onto the jighead barbs, so changed to wormies and no problem.
Anyone else found the occasional custard consistency Gulps?
About midday the NW arrived almost instantly, all 25-30kn of it. With the drogue alternating between being collapsed by breakers, creating vortices at full stretch and 1.5m breaking faces coming full tilt over the bow causing me to sit in my own paddling pool - (To the guys at OK: Bigger scuppers on the next model please) decided fishing had lost its appeal for the day, so gear in and had fun in the washing machine for a half hour or so (I love that black smudge on the display when the transducer clears the water as you crest a wave

)
Had to time the rentry to not only allow for the surf, but a couple of kite boarders who were whizzing back and forward along the bay...reminded me of the old Frogger game where you had to dodge the traffic.

Got home 5 hours ago and still swaying

Heres a quickie when I had the chance to put the paddle down for a few seconds

Great Fun!
