Springing into Summer

Spring has bought with it some exceptional fishing - lets hope summer produces the goods too!

Awesome Big snapper fishing in the Doubtless / Matauri Bay areas has been had in recent weeks, including a 12.5kg++ fish caught by 'North Shore Surfcasting Club' member Trevor Savory. Other fish to 9kg caught by club members also.

Fishing closer to home hotting up with great schools of 2-3kg snapper showingup in inner Gulf with the odd 7kg fish making some days very interesting. Fish not picky onbaits, but time of tide important - lots of water movement a must with bite times coinciding with peak current flows.
