Looking for a tasty and sustainable way to spice up your meals? Look no further than fish skin! While some may turn their noses up at this underappreciated part of the fish, there are plenty of reasons why you should give it a chance.
For starters, fish skin is packed with nutrients that can benefit your health. It’s a great source of collagen, which can help keep your skin looking smooth and youthful. Plus, it’s full of omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce inflammation and support brain health.
But that’s not all – eating fish skin can also help reduce waste in the fishing industry. By utilising more parts of the fish, we can help decrease the amount of waste generated and make the industry more sustainable. It’s a win-win!
Next time you’re cooking up some fish, don’t be so quick to toss out the skin. Get creative and try frying it up to make some crispy fish skin chips or use it to add flavour and texture to your favourite dishes. With a little experimentation, you’re sure to find a new favourite food in this unsung hero of the sea.
So come on, let’s give fish skin the love and attention it deserves!
