Overview: Sulphur Point is often a busy place, especially over the summer months. Next to the dry stack is a four-lane boat ramp of sixdegrees pitch, with a six-lane ramp of seven-degrees pitch 200 metres further north. These all-tide concrete ramps are suitable for trailer boats of all sizes and are free to use.
Parking: There are a few carparks at the ramps (approximately 25 cars and trailers), but more parking is provided on the grass area next to and in between the ramps.
Facilities: You will find a restaurant adjacent to the four-lane ramp, and fuel is available from the jetty around the corner. Toilets, a coin-operated boat-wash station and the Tauranga Fish and Dive Club rooms are located at the six-lane lane ramp. Around the corner is a dive shop, boat-servicing workshop, a tackle shop with bait and ice sales, with a Top Catch store also in the vicinity. You can get to cafes, the Tauranga Sport Fishing Club and Burnsco within a minute’s drive to the marina at Sulphur Point itself.
