For all the working dads that would like to take the kids fishing during the holidays or weekends. The best time to go, is as early as you can get the kids up and moving and fish through to about mid/late morning.10. Different places fish at different times of the tides but last half of the incoming is a pretty good bet unless you have some special local knowledge that would suggest otherwise. March through to May is always pretty reliable and any wharf,rock head or river mouth will do. A boat is better if you have access, but depending on the age of the kids, often catching sprats is fun. If you're wharf fishing show your cildren how to put a jack mackerel or sprat back out for a John Dory or if you're lucky perhaps a Kingfish!

Bait
There's lots of option  - one I use is skipjack that's been cubed and salted the night before and left in a lidded container for ease of use in the morning. Take a cheap loaf of bread and dd 1 slice at a time to the oil/liquid produced and groundbait the area you're fishing. Works a treat.
