The basic rig I most often use for surfcasting or boat fishing is the two hook dropper rig. I use 40lb trace and 4 dropper loops. I tie two small loops at the top and bottom of the rig for connecting to a clip swivel and sinker, and two larger loops in the middle of the rig for attaching the hooks.
The distance between the middle loops should be far enough apart (at least 2x length of the larger loop) to avoid the hooks tangling. Dropper loops are great for getting the hooks and bait to stand off the main rig body and I can not remember ever having a drooper loop brake or undo.
When I have some free time at home, I take a spool of 40lb leader at start making my rigs without cutting the line. Small loop....space...big loop...space....big loop...space...small loop. I leave only a small distance in the line before I start the next rig. I make as many of these rigs in the leader before I go insane and then wind them all back on to the spool ready to go.
The thinner spools are great for this. When I am on the beach or out on a boat all I have to do is take out my pre-tied spool, attach the first small dropper loop to my clip swivel, unwind the rest of the rig, snip it off and I am ready to roll!

Very good boats can’t come up for sale often....

It's an unforgiving place literally in the middle of nowhere. While Robert Frisbee took it to another level this guy is also a survivor. Great story: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/cook-islands-fisher-lost-at-sea-for-a-week-describes-his-ordeal/UCJLA6NQRZHTPKGPOZD4H7QGOQ/...
