What would be the best spots the world has to offer for no holds bared large angry GT's and maybe jigging some Doggies to really kill ya (not important factor but just some to mx it up).

I am trying to plan a no holds bared adventure of a life time for someone to fish 4 of the best GT spots the world has to offer. Seasons / best time may be a factor as the adventure and the destinations have to be one after the other (2 month window).

Love some ideas and feedback and even some recommendations for top of the line operators.
My ideas so far are:
New Cal
Seychelles
Oman
Barrier reef
Vanuatu (this one I am unsure of)
Maldives

Come on guys get dreaming its not you money we are spending, dream it up love some ideas.

Sounds like a great adventure.
Add in Japan (Tokara) to your list.
Oman and surrounds check out Ocean Active
New Cal get in touch with Ocean Blue fishing adventures
Have heard of other far out places to chase them like off Yemen, look out for pirates, little island called Socotra has some monsters.
Mozambique and Tanzania maybe? Andre from over there will know?
I have also heard of some huge fish off Sri Lanka but no operators there chasing them, but sounds like that could add to the adventure.

Heading up there with a few mates, 2 boats, and 37.349 tonnes of fishing gear, judging by what I am taking and multiplying that out..... :-)

For a Destination that has "no holds bared" untouched GT action, with the worlds best mother ship, tenders and guides you can not go past Nomad Sportfishing Australia.
They have assess to the worlds best GT fishing spots plus the other species that are there to target as well.


you can waste sometime watching the clips that they have on youtube and I think the video's do not do it justice it is an incredible place.

You got me thinking now, four places you say.......Hmmmmm thats tough i need 6 .

1; Coral sea with nomad sportfishing, infact do this trip twice as first time you just think your in a dream or have died and gone to heaven.
2; New Caledonia with LPB (Le Poisson Banane)
3; Tonga with Poppin Tonga
4; Tavanui Island Fiji- fish with anyone who will take you out.
5; Komodo Indonesia.
6; Hawaii landbased.

I would be very happy with an itinerary like that.

Man I wish I had a budget to do something like this.  I would personally hunt for new places that are off the grid.  It may be difficult to get boats to go out on though.  Places that come to mind.....Kiribati, Lau group, Fiji, Tuvalu, I could go on and on and on and on and on.......Smack.....yeah, yeah i'm awake, mom Sleepy
Tis better to have hooked and lost than never to have hooked at all.

Andamans, Mentawaii, Nusa Tengarra and alike. All largely untapped, off the beaten path and cheap as chips if you hook up w the locals.

Popping Tonga, yeah I know what you are saying, but the issue is the budget is good for a reason we work for people that like a few comforts so the hard core travel/fish is good for us but a compromise for the people we work for.
Man I remember back when I was 19 (sounding old now 23 years ago) and surfing on Sumbawa island in indonesia (next island in the chain beside Komodo) paddling out into the remote surf breaks with GTs the size of horses swimming in the waves we were surfing, no one was chasing them back them, we tried and broke more rods than we caught fish just did not have the gear back then, it was pretty feral also, food poisoning, malaria, it got that bad we were eating the Gts as the local food made us sick, swapping the carcass and meat for rice, oh the good old days mono line, old rapalas, snapping rods, cheap reels exploding and reef cuts. But you are right the world still has some pretty cool adventures to offer for the person who wants to get off there seat eh.

Yeah, I guess I'm being selfish, thinking of myself.  Must be hard to book for a customer when you know what you would love to do in their place.

I did the same thing on a surf trip to Fiji some 14 years ago.  Lost every popper I took and never landed a fish. Was one of the best fishing days ever.
Tis better to have hooked and lost than never to have hooked at all.

Midway.... yep it is open to the public now...

you can have a fight here with the thousands of GTs even without hooks on your lures, they just wont let go until they get close to the boat...

Great Barrier Reef has to be the "place"...The scale of the place is just ridiculous, you could spend months following and working the multitude of reef systems... Nomad would be the operator that could cater to your customers needs too Tony. I don't visit their website any more, it's just too much...

Ginga has raised a few goodies that are off the radar spots or locations...

I have just finished reading about the Island of Mauritius in the Marlin magazine, seems to tick the boxes. Jigging doggies (280lb's biggest boated so far!), GT's on surface lures....


JP Charters is what was recommended in the magazine.

Exmouth Gulf . Monster Gt`s there if that`s your thing .
Plus everthing else that swims in the ocean , tuna , marlin , sails , macks , all the trevor family , and so on ....
Base youself in Exmouth or if you like assholes , Onslow .
I`ll be there next month , at the ass end of the world , after we do some barra fishing on the Fiztroy river we will drive down to Onslow and fish / crab / cray ... and drink .. and drink ... in the BLOOD and the MUD and the GUTS .
