Ya know,

In the last week this site has become bombarded with ORNZ people and comments from their followers.

How about a Temporary Thread where one of their reps can tell us all how he/she wants. So WE THE PEOPLE can make an educated decision whether or not we want to support their cause.

At the moment I'm stuck looking at them thinking, "Are the guys just extremeist Greenies with a different agenda? or decent people trying to do the right thing with some extremeists already in the group?"

I'd like to hear what your politics are, what your agenda is, how my supporting you makes NZ a better place for my family and I, and why you came about so late in the political game?

In other words why should we all support your political party?

Good call Hellfish - as a paid up member of ORNZ and financial contributor I would like to know whats going on as well. They won't publish a proper agenda for meetings or the minutes of meetings or update their website with news.

Sounds a bit suspect to me...

Some of the members on here are making them sound like the Christian Taliban.

Hopefully someone will come on here and clarify for us.

I have to say one thing that I have learned about "Independent Parties" they tend to help the Majority Vote by pulling away votes that would have otherwise gone to the next best candidate.

48% of the people did not want George Bush for President. 48% Voted for him and the other 4% voted for independant candidates. In other words, the vote needed to Keep Bush Out was wasted on useless candidates.

As you will see, the time is now 1.58am. I would write something, but I have just wriiten two other things, I am flat out working  to stop the powers that be, rolling us fishos. I do it for nothing, I am not a greeny or a christian or a homo, well....homosapien, if thats ok, and if any of you blokes or blokettes is wanting to make a difference, then go to the website www.ornz.co.nz and email one of the Board members. Have a chat. You might get a deer shooter or a fisho, a trout guide or a yachtie, but where're all fairly normal, just pee'd off with the way things are. Don't worry about your vote for us stuffing it up for a major party. The American system, is not the same as our MMP. We might just get enough votes to hold the balance of power. Imagine that! That means, your membership and vote for the Outdoor Rec Party, will mean there is a party to keep the left and right on an even keel.

So, waiting to hear from you........

I am trying real hard not to comment Chips
I really am

but a push from one side needs ballance so that a carefully ballanced decision can be made. United still wont have support from me. Even moreso after the TV interviews a few nights ago.
A vote for Outdoor rec is a vote for United
I will try to not open this forun again for a while so that you can continue your one sided push

In two minds about ORNZ. Part of my limited mind(well, most actually) thinks FOODGIRLSMONEY!!!!!!!!!!, but the little bit left over is split between thinking ornz is a good idea or a bad idea.

If ORNZ was large enough/assertive enough to take United by the throat and say that ORNZ was to be a major power in Uniteds structure, with gauranteed seats  (say, 1/3rd of any seats United may have) with independence for that member/s on fisheries policies so that if needed they can use their vote contrary to the general United parties vote (so that if a fisheries law was to be vital to us it could be supported/opposed by ORNZ members, even if the United members voted opposite in order to "support the govt"), then yes, I could support United in the knowledge that my vote was getting an ornz member into power.

As just a vote for ORNZ itself, then no, because there is no way they are going to get enough votes to get even one seat in parliament without linking to someone like United. I would rather use my vote for a party most likely to remove the dreaded Uncle Helen.

I DEFINITELY think Hellfish is right, we need a seperate board for ORNZ AND OTHER POLITICIANS to use solely as a political policy access type board for us to contact them directly. It would mean however that we would want to have kowledgable members of the other parties stopping by to check out the site... perhaps with a link to each of the parties websites so every posting goes direct to them all. That way there could be some stimulating posts generated.

cheers, Stu.

BTW, I hadn't noticed a preponderance of ORNZ related posts lately Hellfish... where/which ones?

Oooooh, sorry, just saw the date of the original post there Hellfish, last year! I THUNK this had been raised before!

It is only my overwhelming natural humility that mars my perfection.
