Appreciate any advice as to "which ones to consider". I read "PSI" specs and "Litres per Minute" specs. I am sure that they are both "red herring" specs ~ something like "amps" when people talk stereos !
I want a pump that will blast dried blood off the floor ~ not something that I can piddle with more strength.
Should I be considering hose diameter. I am sure that will affect PSI ?

bucket and scrubbing brush
10000psi and 20000 lph depending on how fast u can fill it lol

no seriouslty..I has a Johnson, the highest LPH they make and it was wicked..and quiet...

Something over 12lpm and with as much PSI as you can buy will do what you want running through a standard garden hose with a standard nozzle. It won't be a water blaster, but it will give you a decent stream.

Contact, i presume we are talking when boat is home not out at sea????

if your running off a tank supply you can use one of these,
they need to be hooked up to normal household power, they turn themselves on when the pressure drops between the pump and tap, still only marginally better than household supply...
mine shoots a straight jet out to around 60ft which is pretty good for a garden hose....
for the price you could buy a decent water plaster instead, they cost around $225.00..

Funny ~ I have that EXACT pump attached to my small rainwater tank up at the beach. I use it for washdown once back home. No, I am talking about a 12v washdown system to clean up all this Kingi blood I seem to collect ( ) when I am out on the briney. Seriously, some of the pumps out there are just toys. I am hoping to have something that , whilst not a waterblaster, will clean up quite efficiently after a day's messy fishing.

nah mate i think your better off with a cheep water blaster,
it is what i use and it makes life easy, not just for the boat but other things as well,

only problem with cheep is the high pressure hose if its layed out on concrete will wear through,
i had to replace my hose within the first 6mths, nearly as expensive as buying the blaster...

but i am happy with the system i have now even if it is cheep it gets rid of all but the worst of the crap off my boat...

What about 1 of these. I have 1 on my boat. They are listed on trademe (no I am not selling them, nor do i know the seller) 17 lpm seems to be the max pressure this style of pump put out. Works ok when used with an adjustable hose nozzle. But nothing like a water blaster though.
