Folks, with lots of people camping over summer, mooring boats off beaches etc, you might find this video by GT Buster Jones useful - he runs through his method of anchoring over sand, roping to a spot on the shore and retrieving without having to swim out the next morning - motivating to get it right where he fishes, which is frequented by crocs and sharks, and large tidal falls.

Yea I used to do this quite a lot.  Only thing Id say is that I used to use an anchor on land as well.   Wouldn't take much to pull a star picket over.

Iv always said that all boats should carry 2 anchors anyway.  You loose an anchor in rough ground and then have motor problems on the way back and it could be all over red rover, hence I always carry 2 anchors (and warps).

Also I used to use a sailing pulley instead of one of those stainless rings.  Im sure the stainless ring will work quite nicely with a small boat like in the video, but I used to do it with a 2ton+ boat.

At times I will drop anchor and back up to a beach then put a stern anchor out to keep the boat close ish to the beach when stopping for a picnic or whatever but the ring/pulley addition could be good for longer stays ...
