And something on the outlet to stop them getting trapped in the hole(s) and blocking them. Pay to have it so piper wont fit too they're good at jamming their beaks in mesh. Maybe two outlets joined together with a pipe that has a 5cm slice out along it's length and this slice is on the bin side so critters cant jam.

Hi there Guys, I'm after some small plastic valves for my tuna tube setup, 1/2 full flow. Any idea's where I could get some would be helpful.

Thanks

Luhrs 35'.  Only downside is the water out of the tubes gets everywhere so there aren't any tea towels in there come gamefishing time!

This is the setup I'm putting on the goodboat Predator...

The tubes just unscrew and leave you with a livebait tank....

I can take it on/off the boat as I please, comes all plumbed up all I have to do is attach the pump (3000GPH)...Thumbs Up
70ml of 90deg C water pressurised through 13g of roasted finely ground tamped coffee for 25sec's to make a distinguishing sensory hit called a Double Shot

yes its a nice setup, looked at this long and hard, this is what I have now on my boat, however the stern wall goes to the floor not 3/4 like you see there, made it all up out of fibreglass and feed it will 40mm hoses, the difference between that and mine is the lid/door there lifts aft, mine lifts to the bow, this to direct water flow aft and not into the boat, did away with the transom bait tank like you see there, I did have a similar sort last season although very good you had to maintain water flow and being above floor meant a power source needed, this time this was not an option so have 2 in hull tanks, well 1 the other is in the swim step with the tank being 600x600 and 200 below the water the inhull is alot bigger, opposite side of the door on the transom is the wash down stuff, coil hose etc, everything in its place, have a riiging table but will need to have an area for bait rigging as I dont like blood and crap all over the place.

I mam told that the tuna tubes on the Ultimate Lady have been enlarged to handle 20kg YFT as livebaits.
Skipper went Obalds and brought 20 only 14/0 hayes hooks.Starting to think a few trips to the gym some months ago may have been a bloody good IdeaUnhappy

hell no mate the bloody stuff gets into cracks and crevacise I never knew existed, we used to just rig baits up on the floor, the rigging table forward of the chair is mainly for lures and drinking from, there is a 2m long bench seat infront of that just So Raging Bull has a place for his smoke and beer.
the bait station is a very large bait board I had made about 1m long by 500 wide it has a skippy bed on it and a nice area to stand and rig dead baits with an over flow going back over the side.

20k yellow fin for baits Grahame mmm I would just be happy to catch one that big.

Question guys:
With your live bait tanks - how many just aerate the water (circulate the same water within the tank) does this keep the bait (Jack Macs, Kahawai) live for long periods

Thanks

My kayak version I took onboard what was in this thread not so long back and built this. Its proving to be worth its weight in gold on the kings for me. Otdrmn we had that problem on the yaks do we just circulate the water or pump in fresh. We decided to add in fresh water and my pump pushes fresh water in and old water out the overflow. I also drain it now and then using the ball valve and have kept up to 15 macks in there although a dozen is more realistic for me but sometimes have to carry more for mates.

The other guys have built some brilliant closed cell foam ones too.

Cheers guys, BA I looked into the foot mounted pump/leaver thing but I would have not been comfortable with my legs which is the hard part of the kayak fishing you just need to switch off the fact you got legs for a few hours. Also having to step up my line weight to after getting dusted by big kings on my last couple of trips so much fun having them tow you about.

I would love to try taking livies out on the Northland coast and trying for a Marlin but nah I would'nt stand a chance.
