Haha I reckon you might be right there Jon
Brings me back to my original comment BX400 slammer where forward is more backward is less & you can get free spool in a split second if you need to

Quote"The new way makes more sense, you can't bump the reel into baitrunner because it is sitting flush against the reel instead of sticking out. I prefer it anyway."................................................................................................The old one sits flush against the reel preventing it getting knocked out of baitrunner mode......when you turn the handle it clicks back onto main drag.....................i think you mean the other way around mate....what you are claiming it doesnt do....is exactly what it does do ! ....unless shimano have gone back to the baitrunner function they had on the likes of the 3500/4500/6500.
A lot of people liked it that way but i guess its all down to personal choice.

Another difference I believe is the star drag wheel on the new OJ works in the reverse direction.... ie  push it forward to back the drag off... supposed to make it quicker to back the drag off in a hurry with the thumb.
Really mike.......thats different......the shape has completly changed as well a.

I think that is only on the 3000Ocea limited edition version. ( gold and black one) my 2000 jigger operates normally...

the 2000 is nice, smooth, lightweight and has adequate drag for a reel of this size, I do however wish they had brought them in with a longer crank handle on them more the 4000 sort of size. I just find the standard a little "normal" if you get what I mean.

 Ocea 2000 is nice though.
