Seems ok the deal and a great rod, just looking through the feedback I would be a little cautious LEV.

Nice rod but if you could fork out the extra$$$ and get one new. That way you can take advantage of kilwells unconditional 5 year warranty (it dont matter if you stand on it or slam it in the car door they'll replace it). I reckon thats worth paying the extra $100 for.

This has saved my arse a couple of times. I own 2 kilwells ( Live fiber and a jelltip). have broken them both. set one on fire and snaped one in half running 37kg braid.

yip agree with Josh 299 is not a good deal really but if your looking at taking on anothers rod be hopeful it dont go bang in the face, these LBG guys dont really sell their goodies unless there is a wee problem with it, having said that i gave mine away. but yeah pay the extra and get the benefits in doing so.

plus they are a long and very powerful rod Levi and not being rude your a little fella ay so watch out when you lock and load on a good fish.

the live fibre weave are a great rod but dont really take kindley to getting the bash on the rocks as they are graphite, me personally will use glass rods from the rocks especially the kilwell jelly tip but only the earlier ones

Cheers Boulder, I am curious like Bushie how the hang do you manage to set a rod on fire? I have managed to ignite myself once in my younger years (well not too long ago actually truth be known but it does sound a little  better when you phrase it like that) with meth's and the trusty kent fireplace and wet wood on a howling Wellywood Southerly and one very scorched Swanie...but a rod ? I would love to know that story

There's a Penn 225 LD on there now ..... $180. They don't make these stunning reels any more.
Nobody has ever come up with a great idea after a second bottle of water.

Method for setting rods on fire.

Step 1. Stay somewhere with no power. use candles.

Step 2. Have a error of judgement and allow your FATHER to unload the fishing rods from the car.

Step 3. watch as he enters the candle light room, rods in hand. Leave for 5mins.

Step 4. Return to find your father and uncle yelling, running round the lawn waveing flameing rods through the air as if they are doing some kind of crazy fire dance.

Step 5. Walk away in disgust.

That's a hot tip alright Josh (mental image is wavering between the chaotic burning bit and the look of disgust bit).

Speaking of bargains on TradeMe, I took a punt and bought some likely looking flasher rigs. These are exactly like the Snappa Flashers which have always been my personal favorites - you know, the ones that are $11.95 each or, at a boat show, 3 for $25. Yes, that's the ones, the popular ones that everyone runs out of 10 minutes into a fishing trip and, by the end of the trip, you've run out too (even though you've still got the one you started with)! Those ones.

I got 10 for $25 and they look just the ticket, complete with 10 of those nifty plastic frames for putting traces on.

I won't advertise on here, but PM me if you want the email addy, you can buy them for around $26 any old time apparently, delivery excellent.

Josh I strongly suggest you nominate the offender for a toilet seat award.
