looking at getting one of these rods have been offered it at a good price backbone elite jig o/h rating - 400gm lenght 5'5"..or a tica jigking 250gm...any of you guys useing these rods?gonna be useing it for speedjigging and livebaiting?cheersThumbs Up

that is a 200gm rod. nice blank. they represent great value for money

they have a 200gm and a 400 version. I have the 400 one myself, havent been using it jigging yet

200gm has the small "trigger" grip, 400gm has the larger "plaming" reel seat.

I have one of the spin versions and its not a bad rod for the $$. I dont jig that much and actually prefer OH anyway but it allows me to have a cheap spin setup when paired with my popper reel.

The big question is whether ya want a 250gram or 400gram rod. Dunno where you are planning on fishing but the latter would most likely to overkill if just fishing the hauraki gulf.

^^ used mine for the first time on friday, was mint as was using 400g jigs on it and it was sweet as 

edit: sorry forgot to say it was the 200g bbe

Had a first timer out yesterday. He broke his Tica speed jigger on the first fish - still managed to land it tho' 11 kg. Apparently it was a replacemement rod after his previous Tica broke

For the last 2 weeks i have been trying to decide the same thing between the different rods the info i have recieved is if it's for jigging and for maximum fun the 200 is the rod and very capable of landing big fish  if it's a slight bit more grunt well the 400 would be the option, you should get some good deals on these rods with it being holiday weekend again.

I have a Backbone Elite BBEL -jigged well off Cavali Is over Taheke Reef - 4 Kings in the afternoon using Penn 505HS (USA model) with 15kg braid. Smile
