Hi guys,

I've been a long time exponenet of poppers for kingies with a lot of sucess but havn't tried the slider type of lure yet - I make my own poppers (and lose a lot but they are cheap to make) but baulk at the huge cost of sliders.

Question : whats the difference -are they more effective?

Just another arrow in the quiver really. Good to have a few though to mix things up a little. They aren't all that pricey either, the River 2 Sea ones are pretty reasonable, like in the $20s and $30s.

Yeah just another option, each have their place.
I think poppers are generally good for exciting smaller fish,we have had them up to early 20's on poppers but the stickbaits seem to be better for larger, more finicky fish.

I enjoy popping more than stickbaiting but I think that stems from visulising that I am waiting for a GT not a greenback!

If you can make some up go for it nothing to lose, could be the difference between a hard day and a great one.
