Went for a look out from Tairua on Tuesday due to the weather forcast. Had a drift at a couple of possies for snapper with the softbaits, but no luck. Got 5 johnies tho. Headed to a terikihi spot that a mate had kindly pass on to me and it was firing, as soon as the baits (blood baits) hit the ground they were into em. My mate had a dive for scollies and said the water was very crappy, that might have something to do with the lack of snapper??

Nice work on the terrors and JD's - both are around in good numbers at the mo

snaps seem to be mainly be out on the sand at present and south is a good direction to head out of the harbour, out from Opoutere to the Dogger bank holding some good fish
