Are you land based or boat??

If in boat, lots of Kingis around lion rock, had ball when the barge was operating over at the farm, heaps of berley seamed to be the go, quite strong currents around there,

Even caught a cray on the rod!

Fish the points either side of the bay Ben although southern side is the preferred by most. Easy to access at low from the beach or when the tide is in take the track out through the bush - 20mins walk (I have always taken the track but been told about the low tide access)

Theres a couple of different points you can get to but both are pretty similar and you can catch kings, JD, KY, trevs, snapper, blue cod, etc depending on the time of year and good old luck!

Hey mate

Been to stony bay a few times landbased the best point as JK said is the southeren point, go on google earth and you will see a good round type ledge jutting out. There is a track about 5 min walk back up the road from campsite, keep look out as it is not a main track. We tried getting to a few spots on the north side by following the track that takes you to fletchers bay, but you basically need an abseiling rope for most of it its that steep a drop, we only walked I guess 3/4 hour of the track and tried droppong down but you could try further on, Id speak to the people in the doc hut at the camp they shouod be able to tell you. Me and a mate are actually heading back soon armed with a couple of cheap yaks to paddle around to the ledges to the north side, this would be the ideal way up stony bay. Good luck!

yak it...spent a good 4 days up there and its definatly the best way to access that area, found alot of nice looking ledges around the northern corner up towards fletchers that we could land on easily.
here fishy, fishy fishy.....

I love stony bay...The south side ledge was where I caught my PB land based snap - 21lb - so I've got pretty good memories of the place. I didn't know then about teh easy track that comes off the road and walked around mid-tide. Bloody good thing it was a sunny day is all I can say, got proper wet!
I'm with Bungel on the yak thing though, I've taken one up there and the difference it makes for access is brilliant, you can see a lot of fishy looking spots which you just couldn't access any other way.
And the campsite is good and handy if you don't want to have to head back home the same day.
Let us know how you get on there and good luck mate.

Shoot forgot to write something hahaha.... Thats the south end point looking back towards stony bay. Like alot of Coro spots its over fished but for kingfish thats not really a problem so enjoy Smile Im lucky enough to fish coro and far north every month and i love this spot over summer but there is a dirty great rock in front of this ledge towards the bay and at low tide its a pain. Also on the outgoing from this point you can get round into some great guts to the south.

I'm planning on heading down there next weekend (23rd) which is conveniently on the 3rd quarter of the moon phase which is the best time for fishing.
I also found a site with a bit of info on it too if anyone is interested

We are down coro next weekend too Fiddy but not at stoney bay. Reasonable moonphase alright, should fish pretty well from about 9am throughout the day and into sunset if all goes well. Hopefully the weather plays ball. Fairly decent blow coming this weekend so should be gone by then!
