I am one of a group of four who shoot on a local farm block for fallow. I had an invite to go on Saturday but for a couple of reasons I couldn't go so our mate Mike took my spot. I have walked beside him many times and he is the fittest of us all - a real tough rugged sort of guy. On Saturday he shot a fallow buck and his last words were 'I don't feel so...' & collapsed never to wake again. Our mate spent 45mins doing CPR and another took over after that until the helicopter arrived.

RIP Mike, I really looked up to you Cry

Sorry to hear, condolences.
Those that say it can't be done are being overtaken by those doing it.

Tough brother -

The real good ones always seem to leave long before their allotted time should be up.
I feel your agony.

Thanks guys. My friend was Mike Neale. Mike started up Rusty Dog in Pukekohe so I am sure some of you bumped into him. A man of good morals and determination whose settled for an easier life. It has been a tough weekend for me but even harder for my mates who administered CPR. Both have belonged to these forums. RIP bro

Tough gig Smudge.
I often think our health and wellbeing is not something we talk about, invest in or take seriously until we get a wake up call, and sometimes that is too late.
Just the ramblings of a 64 yr old who knows he should drink less, eat better and exercise more.
All the best for the next week Smudge. Remember to take some time for yourself.
